This week’s Entertainment Weekly has a great write up both on Heather Locklear’s Melrose return and Katie Cassidy (Ella). While Locklear claims that Amanda isn’t based on anyone she knows, Cassidy cops to basing Ella on “a combination of people in my life” and further goes on to put it out there that Ella will be able to hold her own against Amanda. I’d thought that maybe they were going to reveal that Ella is Amanda’s daughter from some pre-original show tryst, but I hope that’s not the direction they’re going… I like the David/Michael son/father dynamic and even like crazy Violet being Sydney’s daughter (although I guess the jury is still out whether or not Vi is just plain nuts and with Simpson leaving the show, my guess is we’ll get a quick but ambiguous answer) but would hate for all the legacy characters to have sons or daughters on the show. What do you think? How do you think it’ll play out? We only have three more days to see what the MP writers have in store for our favorite Heather.
